Assumed name statute

Assumed name statute is the law, which is in place in the majority of states, specifies that no one shall run a business under any name other than his or her own individual name unless the desired name is filed with the county clerk in each county where the business is done. Brokers and salespeople must provide a declaration of such filing to the state's real estate commission.
