Consideration

Something of value that encourages someone to get into a legally binding agreement. The term "consideration" may refer to anything "valuable" like money or a commodity, or it can refer to something "good" like love and devotion. In addition, an act of forbearance or the promise of such behavior that is offered by one party in return for something from the other side. A commitment to refrain from doing something is known as forbearance.
