Joint tenancy

The ownership of real property by two or more individuals who, under the terms of a single conveyance, are referred to as "joint tenants." By virtue of the right of survivorship, the interest of a joint tenant who dies away is automatically transferred to the joint tenant or tenants who are still alive.
