Squatter’s rights

Those rights which were obtained by means of hostile possession. One may legally "squat" on property for a particular amount of time and under certain circumstances in order to claim title to it under the statute of limitations. Either "title by prescription" or "easement by prescription" may be said to apply in the situation when just an easement and not the title to the property itself is obtained.
